JPMorgan Chase, who got a cool $25 billion in TARP funds, obviously didn’t get that foreboding memo on populist rage towards companies that spend tax payer money on frivolous luxuries. The company is buying not one, but two shmoozy planes and a lavish parking space to the tune of $138 million.
A public hearing will be held by Westchester County officials tonight regarding JPMorgan’s request for new hangar space. JP will no doubt build a very concrete case for themselves with all the details about the ”superior cabin amenities, an optional stateroom, and 12 interior designs to choose from.”
Joseph Evangelisti, evil person and spokesman for JPMorgan Chase, said no TARP money would be used to make any payments for new jets or jet hangar improvements. The bank will have nine years to pay off the planes and improvements and they’ll totally pay back the TARP funds by then. Or of course, they’ll be out of business and end up selling the planes and space anyway.
